This BetVictor Ireland review covers what the Irish Revenue Commissioners’ register, the UK Gambling Commission’s public register, BetVictor’s own Irish pages and its app store listing actually show — licence status, regulatory history, markets, app, payments and safety — rather than repeating marketing claims. BetVictor is one of the older names in British betting, founded in 1946, and it now trades to Irish customers through a Gibraltar company. Punter Ireland has no affiliate or commercial relationship with BetVictor at the time of writing; nothing here implies a bonus, deal or partnership.

Pros
  • Confirmed on the Irish Revenue Commissioners’ register of licensed remote bookmakers, and BV Gaming Limited has a public GRAI notice of intent to apply for a remote betting licence
  • Broad sports coverage for Irish punters, including Gaelic games, hurling, horse racing, greyhounds, rugby and boxing, with in-play betting and an in-play streaming feature on its app listing
  • Odds can be shown in fractional or decimal format, which suits punters used to either style
  • A long trading history and a mobile app listed on the Irish App Store with an 18+ rating and a 4.7 out of 5 store score
Cons
  • The licensee, BV Gaming Limited, agreed a £2.08 million settlement with the UK Gambling Commission in February 2022 over fairness, anti-money laundering and social responsibility failings between January 2019 and March 2020; disclosed in full below
  • We could not verify its payment methods, limits or withdrawal times for an Irish euro account because its help pages blocked our automated access
  • Its Trustpilot score of 2.9 out of 5 is lower than most operators we review, though much of the feedback concerns casino products rather than betting
  • No confirmed welcome offer for Irish customers; we could not read the terms

BetVictor Ireland review: licensing and what the licence covers

BetVictor in Ireland is operated by BV Gaming Limited, a company with a registered address at Portland House, Glacis Road, Gibraltar. The Irish Revenue Commissioners’ register of licensed remote bookmakers, which we read directly (the version we checked is dated 30 June 2026, and we checked it on 3 October 2026), lists Remote Bookmaker’s Licence reference 1010233 for BV Gaming Limited under the trading names BetVictor, HeartBingo and TalkSport Bet.

Separately, the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) publishes notices of intent to apply for a licence, and its site lists one from BV Gaming Limited for a remote betting licence, with a published notice date of 20 March 2026. That shows the company is going through the new Irish licensing process; it is not itself a licence. We looked for a GRAI registration number on BetVictor’s own Irish pages, as some operators display one in their footers, and did not find one in the content we could read. We therefore report the Revenue register entry as the verified position, and we have not seen BetVictor state a GRAI number of its own.

This is a betting licence. It does not cover casino games, and Irish casino (gaming) licences are not yet available — GRAI is expected to open gaming licence applications through 2027 and 2028. BetVictor promotes casino, slots and bingo products under the same brand family, and its Irish App Store presence includes a separate slots and casino listing. Treat any casino access as outside what the Irish betting licence covers, and check which company and licence stands behind a casino product before you play. Our guide to checking a bookmaker is licensed shows how to do the same check yourself.

Regulatory history you should know about

The UK Gambling Commission’s public register lists BV Gaming Limited under account number 39576. One published enforcement action concerns this licensee, and we include it because the same legal entity holds the Irish licence and because we disclose adverse history on every review rather than omit it.

  • February 2022: a regulatory settlement worth about £2.08 million, made up of £1,728,000 paid in lieu of a financial penalty and £352,000 of gross gambling yield divested. The Commission found breaches between January 2019 and March 2020, including failures to maintain fair and transparent terms and practices, inadequate anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing controls, insufficient customer interaction to minimise gambling harm, and marketing requirement breaches. The Commission noted that BetVictor submitted a remedial action plan within two days of the review notice and then put corrective measures in place.

The Commission described the payment as going to its National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms. This action concerns the company’s Great Britain licence and is not a finding by an Irish regulator. We note a quirk in how the register presents it: the standalone enforcement entry for this settlement is published, while the register’s business summary page for account 39576 showed no recorded actions when we looked, so we rely on the enforcement entry itself. We found no later published UK action and no published action by an Irish regulator at the time of writing. The action is more than four years old and the Commission recorded remedial steps, but anti-money laundering and customer interaction controls are exactly the areas where you should expect your own safeguards to work, so set your limits yourself and expect identity and source-of-funds checks.

Sports and betting markets

BetVictor’s Irish sports pages list the sports you would expect: Gaelic games, hurling, football, horse racing, boxing, rugby, American football, esports and virtual sports, with in-play betting across football, tennis, golf, darts, snooker and cricket. Its football coverage names the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga, and it also lists greyhound racing. The app listing refers to a best-odds offer on UK and Irish racing; we have not verified its terms, which normally carry conditions, so read them before relying on it. The site also lists a Lucky Dip market for special odds.

Odds can be displayed in several formats, including fractional and decimal, and the site explains how each works. For festival weeks, see our guides to Cheltenham, the Grand National and Punchestown, which explain markets and each-way terms at any bookmaker. We did not compare BetVictor’s prices with other bookmakers for this review, so we make no claim that its odds are better or worse.

The BetVictor app

The app is listed on the App Store as BetVictor Sports Bets & Casino, sold by BV Gaming Limited, with an 18+ age rating, a 4.7 out of 5 store score from 2.2k ratings and a requirement of iOS 16.0 or later (about 131 MB). The listing describes football, horse racing and casino products, live in-play betting and streaming, and pre-match and live odds browsing. It notes that the developer collects purchase, financial, contact and identifier data for analytics and personalisation, which is normal for a real-money app but worth a look at the privacy settings. Because the listing bundles sports and casino, remember that only the betting side sits under the Irish betting licence.

There is also a talkSPORT BET listing on the Irish App Store; talkSPORT Bet is one of the trading names on the Irish register entry. We did not test the Android app or the mobile site for this review, so we do not comment on their performance. Try any betting app with a small bet first.

Signing up

  • Registration is done on betvictor.com or in the app, with identity and age verification (18+) before you can deposit or withdraw.
  • You will need to confirm you are resident in the Republic of Ireland and provide the usual personal details.
  • Expect anti-money laundering checks, which may include proof of address and source of funds, especially before larger withdrawals. This is standard, and the 2022 settlement is a reminder it is taken seriously.
  • Set deposit limits during registration and review your marketing preferences before you finish.

Our step-by-step guide to opening a betting account walks through each stage, including verification.

Payments

We could not read BetVictor’s help centre payment pages: they blocked our automated access, so we cannot confirm the exact methods, minimum and maximum amounts or withdrawal times for an Irish euro account. Rather than guess from third-party sites, which are often unreliable, we say so plainly. The Irish pages we could read display euro examples, which suggests euro accounts are offered, but we did not see a cashier. Most regulated bookmakers support debit cards and at least one e-wallet or bank option, yet you should not assume any particular method.

Question to check at the cashierWhy it matters
Which deposit methods are offered for euro accounts? Some methods, such as credit cards, may not be available, and e-wallet deposits are often excluded from welcome offers
What are the minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts? Not confirmed by us; they vary by method
What are the withdrawal processing times by method? Not confirmed by us; verification checks can add delay
Is the withdrawal method in your own name?Standard rule across regulated operators; payments to third-party accounts are normally refused
Are there fees?We did not verify any fee schedule

A Trustpilot reviewer in early October 2026 praised fast withdrawals, while another complained of slow deposits at busy times; both are single experiences and do not tell you what your account will see. Whatever you choose, withdraw to the method you used to deposit where possible and keep your documents ready.

The welcome offer

BetVictor’s Irish page says it has a number of online betting offers for new customers, but we could not verify a specific headline, the qualifying odds or stake, expiry, or any excluded payment methods for Irish customers, and we have no commercial relationship with BetVictor. One Trustpilot reviewer in early October 2026 said the welcome bonus was not clear to them on joining, which is a common complaint across the industry and a good reason to read the terms in full before opting in. See our free bets and wagering explainer for what each condition means. A free bet or bonus is promotional credit, not a reason to bet more than you planned.

Safety and account controls

BetVictor operates a safer gambling section and the Irish site carries responsible gambling messaging. We could not read the details of its tools for Irish customers, so we do not list specific features beyond what any regulated bookmaker is expected to offer: deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion. The regulatory history above is a reminder to rely on your own controls: set a deposit limit before you play, use a time-out when you need a break, and use self-exclusion if gambling stops being fun. The Irish support service GamblingCare.ie offers a free 24/7 helpline on 1800 936 725, and our responsible gambling page lists further support.

What Trustpilot says, and how to read it

Trustpilot is covered in its own section below. The short version: BetVictor’s score is lower than most of the bookmakers we review, but the feedback is polarised and a good share of it concerns slots and casino games rather than sports betting, which is not what an Irish betting licence covers. Treat the score as a complaints signal alongside the licensing facts.

BetVictor compared with the other operators we review

BetVictorIrish Revenue licence 1010233 (BV Gaming Limited); public GRAI notice of intent; no own-stated GRAI number seen; disclosed 2022 UKGC settlement; broad Irish sports coverage; payments unverified
bet365Irish licence through Hillside (Sports) ENC; sports betting only; deep in-play and streaming; long trading history
Paddy PowerIrish Revenue licence 1010107 plus own-stated GRAI reference; feature-rich app; two disclosed UKGC actions (2023 and 2025)
UnibetDirectly GRAI-licensed per its own terms, plus Irish Revenue entry; PayPal and card payments
Sky BetIrish Revenue licence through SBG Sports Ltd; payment details not publicly confirmed by Sky Bet
BoyleSportsIrish Revenue licence plus own-stated GRAI reference; strong GAA and greyhound coverage; wide e-wallet range
William HillIrish Revenue licence through William Hill Malta PLC; group-wide UKGC fine in 2023 disclosed in its review
KwiffIrish Revenue licence; Supercharge odds boost; Pay by Bank and Google Pay
QuinnBetIrish Revenue licence; Irish-founded brand; payment details not independently confirmed
MidniteIrish Revenue licence; mobile-first product; Apple Pay, Google Pay and Trustly

Against the other bookmakers on Punter Ireland, BetVictor’s strengths are market breadth, an Irish sports focus that includes Gaelic games, and a long trading history. Its weaknesses are that we could not verify payments or offer terms, that it shows no own-stated GRAI number, and that it carries a disclosed UK settlement. On trust it sits mid-range among the operators we review. See all of our betting sites and our comparison for new customers.

Irish gambling regulation context

The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland opened applications for remote betting licences on 9 February 2026, and remote betting licences started on 1 July 2026, and operators already on the Revenue register are working through the transition. BV Gaming Limited is on the Revenue register and has a published GRAI notice of intent. Gaming (casino) licences are separate and are expected to open through 2027 and 2028, which is why no operator on this site is presented as licensed for casino play by Irish customers. Check the register or GRAI site again before you sign up, as licensing positions are changing during the transition.

Safety checklist before you sign up

  • Confirm the licence reference for the entity serving Irish customers: BV Gaming Limited, reference 1010233 on the Irish Revenue register.
  • Check payment methods, limits and processing times at the cashier, since we could not verify them.
  • Read the welcome offer terms in full before opting in, including qualifying odds, expiry and any excluded payment methods.
  • Set a deposit limit as part of registration, not after you have started playing.
  • Be clear which products are betting and which are casino; only betting is covered by the Irish bookmaker licence.
  • Know how to self-exclude before you need to.

Dispute routes

If you have a complaint with BetVictor, start with its customer support and keep records of what you send and receive, including screenshots and dates. If it is not settled, Irish customers of a licensed betting entity can raise regulatory concerns with the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland. Our Responsible Gambling page lists current contact routes and support organisations.

Switching from another bookmaker

If you are moving to BetVictor from another bookmaker, carry across the basics: set the same deposit limit you had before, do not treat a new offer as a reason to stake more than you planned, and check that its markets cover the sports you bet on most. Registering a second account does not require closing the first, but each account needs its own limits. Withdraw any balance you do not intend to use rather than leaving it idle.

In-play betting and streaming

In-play betting is a prominent feature across football, tennis, golf, darts, snooker and cricket, and the app listing refers to live streaming. Streaming eligibility, rights and coverage change by event and by account status, so check what is available to you before relying on it. In-play prices move quickly, and a delay in placing a bet can matter; one Trustpilot reviewer said deposits sometimes took minutes while a race ran. That is a single report, not a finding, but it is a reason to fund your account before the event starts. Our bet types guide covers how cash out and other features work in general.

Who BetVictor in Ireland suits

BetVictor is likely to suit punters who want a long-established brand, strong coverage of Irish and British racing and Gaelic games, and a straightforward betting product. It is less likely to suit customers who want casino games under an Irish licence, anyone who needs confirmed payment details before they register, and anyone for whom the 2022 settlement is a deal-breaker. If a clean regulatory record matters most, compare it against the other bookmakers we review.

A note on the BetVictor brand family

The Irish Revenue entry lists three trading names for one licence: BetVictor, HeartBingo and TalkSport Bet. The wider group has also been re-branding under the name BV Group. Do not assume a product or licence available on one brand applies to another. HeartBingo is a bingo product and the register entry is for betting only, so check the entity named in the footer of whichever site you use.

Customer support

We did not test BetVictor’s live chat or phone support, and its help centre blocked our automated access, so we do not rate response times from first-hand evidence. Trustpilot reviewers describe a mix of experiences. Once you are registered, check the help section for current channels, and keep screenshots or chat transcripts of any conversation about a deposit, withdrawal or offer.

What to check before your first bet

Before your first bet, confirm a few practical details directly on betvictor.com or in the app: the live welcome offer and its terms, the payment methods and limits at the cashier for your account, and how the app handles the sports you follow. Start with a small stake while you learn the bet slip, and read our beginner’s guide to placing a bet if you are new to betting.

How we rated BetVictor

  • Licensing and safety, 3 out of 5: licence confirmed on the Irish Revenue register and a public GRAI notice exists, but we saw no own-stated GRAI number and the UK settlement covered AML and fairness failings.
  • Markets and odds, 4 out of 5: very broad Irish and British sports coverage including Gaelic games and racing, in-play and streaming; we did not compare prices.
  • Bonuses and promotions, 2 out of 5: no verified offer terms for Irish customers.
  • Customer support, 3 out of 5: untested by us; Trustpilot sentiment is mixed at 2.9 out of 5.

Review methodology

This review is based on the Irish Revenue Commissioners’ register of licensed remote bookmakers (version dated 30 June 2026, checked 3 October 2026), the GRAI notices of intent page for BV Gaming Limited, BetVictor’s own Irish sports page, its App Store listing, the UK Gambling Commission’s public register and enforcement entry for BV Gaming Limited, and Trustpilot. Where information could not be independently verified — such as payments, limits, welcome offer terms and any own-stated GRAI reference — we say so rather than repeat marketing claims or rely on third-party affiliate sites. We hold no affiliate or commercial relationship with BetVictor at the time of writing.

Frequently asked questions

Is BetVictor licensed in Ireland?

BV Gaming Limited holds Irish Revenue Remote Bookmaker’s Licence reference 1010233, with BetVictor, HeartBingo and TalkSport Bet listed as trading names, and has a published GRAI notice of intent to apply for a remote betting licence. We did not find a GRAI registration number on BetVictor’s own pages.

Has BetVictor been fined by a regulator?

In February 2022 the UK Gambling Commission published a settlement of about £2.08 million with BV Gaming Limited over breaches between January 2019 and March 2020 covering fair terms, anti-money laundering, customer interaction and marketing. It relates to the GB licence. We found no later UK action and no published action by an Irish regulator.

Can I play casino games at BetVictor in Ireland?

Not under the Irish betting licence. Ireland does not yet have gaming (casino) licences; GRAI is expected to open these through 2027 and 2028. Check which entity and licence covers any casino product before you play.

What payment methods does BetVictor accept?

We could not confirm this for Irish accounts because its help pages blocked our access. Check the cashier for the methods, limits and withdrawal times available to you before you deposit.

Is there a BetVictor welcome offer for Ireland?

Its Irish page refers to new customer offers, but we could not verify a headline or terms. Read the terms on betvictor.com before opting in.

Does BetVictor have a mobile app?

Yes. BetVictor Sports Bets & Casino is listed on the App Store with an 18+ rating. Check the current version and requirements in your app store before installing.

What Trustpilot reviewers say

As of 3 October 2026, BetVictor holds a TrustScore of 2.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 5,377 reviews. This is the brand’s global score, not filtered to Irish customers — Trustpilot does not let a business split ratings by reviewer country — and it covers the whole product range, including casino and slots products that fall outside an Irish betting licence, so many comments concern those. Trustpilot ratings for bookmakers also skew low generally: happy customers rarely leave a review, while people with an account or withdrawal problem often do, so treat this as a complaints signal alongside the rest of this review rather than a balanced popularity score. Two recent reviews below, picked to show the range rather than only the worst or the best, and avoiding reviews that make specific allegations we cannot verify:

“Fast withdrawal. Good wins. No issues with games crashing except when I had some Internet issues…”

— Mircea Mircioane, ★★★★★ (5/5), early October 2026, via Trustpilot

“New customer, welcome bonuses weren’t clear. Said £30 casino bonus but that was split into £10 for 3 different types”

— Brodav, ★★ (2/5), early October 2026, via Trustpilot

Final verdict

BetVictor is a long-established bookmaker with a confirmed Irish Revenue licence held through BV Gaming Limited, a public GRAI notice of intent, and broad coverage of the sports Irish punters follow, including Gaelic games and racing. Against that, its 2022 UK settlement over AML, fairness and customer interaction failings is worth weighing, we could not verify payments or offer terms, and we saw no own-stated GRAI number. If you want a familiar brand with wide markets, it is a reasonable option once you have checked the cashier and offer terms and set your own limits. If a clean regulatory record or confirmed payment details matter most, compare it against the other bookmakers we review.
