What is the Arsenal vs Leeds prediction?

API-Football’s data model gives Arsenal a 45% chance, the draw 45% and Leeds 10%, and its suggested angle is a double chance of Arsenal or a draw, with fewer than 3.5 goals. These percentages are a statistical estimate built from form, attack and defence ratings and head-to-head records, so treat them as one input rather than a forecast. However, the model is not saying a draw is as likely as an Arsenal win in any plain sense, because it combines the two outcomes into its double-chance reading.

Its comparison figures lean Arsenal’s way as well. The overall score is 62% to 38% in Arsenal’s favour, the Poisson goal model gives 68% to 32%, and the head-to-head measure is 100% to 0% because of the run of wins below. That said, Leeds are the better-defending side by one measure, since the model rates Leeds at 57% to Arsenal’s 43% on defence. You can see how our own data-based picks have fared on the predictions track record page.

Where do Arsenal and Leeds sit in the table?

Arsenal are second on 12 points from five games, with four wins and one defeat, eight goals scored and four conceded for a goal difference of +4. Only Manchester City, on 15, are ahead of them. Leeds are fifth on 9 points from five, with two wins and three draws, seven scored and three conceded, so they are also on +4. In other words, there are three points between the sides, but Leeds have not yet lost a league game this season.

Because Arsenal average 2.4 points a game to Leeds’ 1.8, the table shows a gap, but a smaller one than the head-to-head record suggests. Leeds have kept two clean sheets in five, and Arsenal have kept three. Since both defences have been tight, the goal total is a fair question, which is exactly what the under 3.5 goals part of the API-Football angle is getting at.

How do the home and away records compare?

Arsenal have been strong at the Emirates this season. They have played two league games at home and won both, scoring five and conceding one, including a 3-0 win over Coventry on 21 August and a 2-1 win over Chelsea on 6 September. Away from home they have won two of three, but they lost 3-0 at Brighton on 19 September, so the Emirates is clearly their safer ground.

Leeds have a solid away record in a small sample. They have played two league games on the road, winning 1-0 at Nottingham Forest on 22 August and drawing 1-1 at Brighton on 5 September, with two scored and one conceded. Meanwhile their three home games brought one win and two draws. So Leeds arrive as a side that does not lose, although they have only scored more than one goal in a single game, the 4-1 home win over Newcastle on 14 September.

What does the head-to-head record say?

Arsenal have won each of the last six meetings, scoring 20 goals to Leeds’ three. The latest was a 4-0 win at Leeds on 31 January 2026, and before that Arsenal won 5-0 at home on 23 August 2025. Going back further, Arsenal won 4-1 at home on 1 April 2023, 1-0 away on 16 October 2022, 2-1 at home on 8 May 2022 and 4-1 away on 18 December 2021.

However, these games were mostly played when Leeds were in different circumstances, and a head-to-head run is a weaker guide than current form. The last two meetings were comfortable Arsenal wins, but the 1-0 and 2-1 results in 2022 show that Leeds have been able to keep the margin down. So it is fair to say the history favours Arsenal while current league form is closer than the history suggests.

What could decide Arsenal vs Leeds?

Arsenal’s recent run, oldest first, reads W-W-W-W-L, with the defeat coming at Brighton on 19 September. They beat Coventry 3-0, Aston Villa 1-0, Chelsea 2-1 and Sunderland 2-0 before that. Leeds, in the same order, read W-D-D-W-D: a 1-0 win at Forest, 1-1 draws with Brentford and Brighton, a 4-1 win over Newcastle and a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on 20 September.

Because Leeds have drawn three of their five, the question is whether they can turn draws into wins against a top-two side. We have not included injury or suspension information, since we did not verify any for this game, so check the clubs’ official channels before kick-off.
