Betting on Arsenal
Arsenal are the reigning champions, so home prices are short. Say a bookmaker offers 1.60 on an Arsenal home win, 4.20 on the draw and 5.50 on the away win. Those prices imply chances of 62.5%, 23.8% and 18.2%, which total 104.5%, so the margin is 4.5%. A €10 bet on the draw at 4.20 returns €42.00, a €32.00 profit. The prices are illustrative, not a quote. Our guide to how betting odds work walks through the sums.
