Home » Lucky 31 Calculator: Returns on a 31-Bet Lucky 31

This Lucky 31 calculator works out your returns on a Lucky 31 before you place it. Enter the odds for five selections, set each as a winner or a loser and see the total stake, return and profit. You can also switch to a Lucky 15 or a Lucky 63.

Quick answer
  • A Lucky 31 is 31 bets on 5 selections: 5 singles, 10 doubles, 10 trebles, 5 four-folds and 1 five-fold.
  • The stake is per bet. A €1 Lucky 31 costs €31, and an each-way Lucky 31 has 62 bets.
  • One winner is enough to get something back.

Pick Lucky 31 in the menu, enter your five prices and set the results. The Lucky 63 option adds a sixth selection.

What is a Lucky 31?

A Lucky 31 is a full-cover bet on five selections in different events. It places 31 bets covering every combination: five singles, ten doubles, ten trebles, five four-folds and one five-fold. Because the singles are included, you are paid if only one selection wins.

Lucky 63663615201561

Each extra selection roughly doubles the number of bets, and the stake. See our Lucky 15 calculator for the four-selection version.

Worked example: a €1 Lucky 31

Five selections at evens (2.0), 2/1 (3.0), 6/4 (2.5), 3/1 (4.0) and 4/1 (5.0), with €1 on each of the 31 bets, so a total stake of €31.

A quick way to check the total: add one to each decimal price, multiply them, then take away one. Here that is 3 × 4 × 3.5 × 5 × 6 = 1,260, minus 1 = 1,259. If all five win, the return is €1,259, a profit of €1,228.

ResultReturnProfit or loss
All five win€1,259+€1,228
Last four win (2/1, 6/4, 3/1, 4/1)€419+€388
Last three win (6/4, 3/1, 4/1)€104+€73
Last two win (3/1, 4/1)€29-€2
Only the 4/1 wins€5-€26

A Lucky 31 usually needs three or more winners to be clearly in profit, because you are staking 31 units. At longer odds, two winners can come close to breaking even, as above.

What about a Lucky 63?

A Lucky 63 adds a sixth selection and makes 63 bets, so a €1 stake costs €63. Adding a 5/1 sixth selection (6.0) to the example above, if all six win the return is 3 × 4 × 3.5 × 5 × 6 × 7 − 1 = €8,819 for a profit of €8,756. Choose Lucky 63 in the menu to try it.

How many winners do you need in a Lucky 31?

One winner gives a return because of the singles, but to cover the 31-unit stake you usually need at least two or three, depending on the prices.

Each-way Lucky 31

An each-way Lucky 31 has 62 bets, 31 win and 31 place, and double the stake. Use our each way calculator and each-way guide to understand place terms before you stake that much.

Staking and safer gambling

Because a Lucky 31 costs 31 times your unit stake, a €5 unit means €155 on one slip. Decide your limit first, and read our betting sites comparison if you need a licensed place to bet. Our guide to checking a bookmaker is licensed explains how to check.

What this calculator leaves out

This calculator is a guide only. It does not apply Rule 4 deductions, dead heats, bonuses, boosts, early-payout offers or bet builders, and bookmakers can round or settle slightly differently. Check your slip and the bookmaker’s terms before you rely on a figure. Our bet calculator has a section on Rule 4 and dead heats. Many bookmakers also offer Lucky 31 bonuses, which differ by offer and are not included.
