Betting on Coventry City
Promoted sides can be priced as underdogs even at home. Say a bookmaker offers 3.00 on a Coventry home win, 3.40 on the draw and 2.35 on the away win. Those prices imply chances of 33.3%, 29.4% and 42.6%, which total 105.3%, so the margin is 5.3%. A €10 bet on the draw at 3.40 returns €34.00, a €24.00 profit. The prices are illustrative, not a quote. Our guide to how betting odds work walks through the sums.
