Betting on Aston Villa
Villa are strong at home, so check the draw price before backing the favourite. Say a bookmaker offers 1.85 on a Villa home win, 3.80 on the draw and 4.10 on the away win. Those prices imply chances of 54.1%, 26.3% and 24.4%, which total 104.8%, so the margin is 4.8%. A €10 bet on the draw at 3.80 returns €38.00, a €28.00 profit. The prices are illustrative, not a quote. Our guide to how betting odds work walks through the sums.
