Where do Bohemians play?
Bohemians play at Dalymount Park in Phibsborough, Dublin, which holds about 4,500 people. The club has played there since the ground opened on 7 September 1901.
Before that the club moved between the Polo Grounds in the Phoenix Park, Jones Road and Whitehall Farm in Glasnevin. Dublin City Council bought Dalymount in 2015, a move that put the ground on a more secure footing.
The current capacity is about 4,500, with API-Football listing 4,443. A redevelopment published in October 2022 proposed raising capacity to 7,880, with completion then expected in 2026. We cannot confirm from published sources that the work has finished, so check the club’s official site before you plan a trip. Tickets are sold through bohemians.ie.
Bohemians history
Founded in the Phoenix Park
Bohemians were founded on 6 September 1890 at the Phoenix Park Gate Lodge by a mix of students and young men from Bell’s Academy, the Royal Hibernian Military School and local medical schools. The club adopted its red and black colours in 1894, having started in white shirts with two red stripes.
Early titles and the 1928 double
Bohs won league titles in 1924 and 1928, and the 1927–28 season brought the club’s first FAI Cup and its first league and cup double. They were also regular winners of the old League of Ireland Shield, with six wins between 1923–24 and 1939–40. In the Leinster Senior Cup they have 33 wins, a record.
The Glen Crowe years
The next wave of success came around the turn of the century. Bohemians won the league and FAI Cup double in 2001, and Glen Crowe scored 25 league goals that season, still the club’s single-season record. Crowe is the club’s top league scorer with 133 goals, and Turlough O’Connor holds the overall scoring record with 192. Tommy Kelly made 575 appearances, the most of any player.
Titles in 2003, 2008 and 2009
Further league titles followed in 2003, 2008 and 2009. The 2008 side won another league and cup double, and Bohs won the League Cup in 2009. In total the club has 11 league titles, seven FAI Cups and three League Cups.
Rebuilding in the 2020s
The club finished fourth in 2025 and, under Alan Reynolds, has stayed among the league’s leading sides in 2026. Bohemians also entered the Women’s National League in 2020, playing their first senior match, a 4–1 defeat to Wexford Youths, on 8 August 2020.
How many titles have Bohemians won?
Bohemians have won 11 League of Ireland titles, seven FAI Cups and three League of Ireland Cups. They also hold the record for Leinster Senior Cup wins, with 33.
The league and FAI Cup doubles came in 1928, 2001 and 2008. League title years named in the sources we cite include 1924, 1928, 2001, 2003, 2008 and 2009. The league cups were won in 1974–75, 1978–79 and 2009. The full list of 11 league titles is not set out in the sources we checked, so we name only the years we could confirm.
Have Bohemians played in Europe?
Yes. Bohemians’ first European game came in 1970 in the Cup Winners’ Cup, and in 2026 they reached the third qualifying round of the Conference League. Their most famous night is probably August 2000, when they won 2–1 at Aberdeen in the UEFA Cup after losing the first leg 1–0. Bohs have also won away at Rangers and Kaiserslautern. In 2008 they beat Welsh side Rhyl 9–3 on aggregate in the Intertoto Cup, and in 2021–22 they beat Stjarnan and F91 Dudelange in Conference League qualifying before losing 3–2 on aggregate to PAOK.
Famous Bohemians players
Alongside the record-holders above, the club’s academy has produced Evan Ferguson, who became Bohemians’ youngest-ever player at 14 years and 337 days. Ali Coote scored in the first leg of the 2021 PAOK tie. The club’s female players now compete in the Women’s National League.
Fan ownership and culture
Bohemians are owned 100% by their members, which means decisions about the club’s future rest with its supporters rather than a private owner. The Notorious Boo-Boys, an ultras group formed in 2006, lead the singing at Dalymount, and Johnny Logan’s “Hold Me Now” is played at home games as the club anthem. The Bohs rivalry with Shamrock Rovers is the “classic” fixture, and Shelbourne, roughly a mile away on the northside, are the closest neighbours.
Betting on Bohemians
Derby matches against Shamrock Rovers and Shelbourne often produce close games, which is why many punters look at double chance, draw no bet and both teams to score rather than a straight win. A double chance bet covers two of the three results: say Bohs are 2.30 to win, the draw is 3.20 and the opponents are 3.10. Bohs or draw would pay about 1.34, so €10 returns €13.40. The lower price reflects the lower risk. Those prices are illustrative, not a quote. Our bet types guide covers each market.
