The Premier League runs from August to May, 38 games per club, and it is the competition Irish punters bet on most. This page explains how to read Premier League predictions and odds and what to check before you bet. It is a guide to how betting works, not a tipping service, and it is not a live fixture list.

What is a Premier League prediction?

A prediction is an opinion about a likely result, built from form, team news and the bookmaker’s prices. It is not a guarantee. Even a strong favourite loses often enough that no single bet is safe, so treat any prediction as one input, not an answer.

How do you read Premier League odds?

Match odds give a price for a home win, a draw and an away win. Convert the prices to implied chances and add them up: the total is more than 100%, and the extra is the bookmaker’s margin. Our guide to how betting odds work shows the conversions.

What are the main Premier League betting markets?

  • Match result (1X2): home, draw or away after 90 minutes plus stoppage time.
  • Both teams to score and over/under goals: popular goal markets that do not depend on who wins.
  • Handicaps: one team starts with a goal advantage or deficit.
  • Player markets: anytime goalscorer, shots and cards, often used in bet builders.
  • Season markets: the title, top four, relegation and points totals, which run for the whole campaign.

Our football betting guide explains each market in more detail.

What should you check before betting on a match?

  • Team news: injuries, suspensions and likely line-ups.
  • Recent form and home or away record.
  • Fixture congestion, such as midweek European games that lead to rotation.
  • What each side needs: title race, European places or relegation.
  • The price at several licensed bookmakers, since the same bet can differ.

Should you use accumulators and bet builders?

Combining selections lifts the odds but every part must win, so risk rises quickly. Bet builders usually carry a larger margin than a single. Read our bet types guide before you combine bets, and use the bet calculator to see the maths.

Where can you bet on the Premier League in Ireland?

Use a bookmaker licensed for Irish customers. See our betting sites in Ireland and how to check a bookmaker is licensed.
